A bunch of pictures taken in Camden Town during my last trip to London last April. I completely forgot about these, I guess it was some kind of self-defense, like repression, due to the fact that they're all - let's face it - quite awful.
I didn't want to upload them, but plans are made about adding a mythical new section to this humble blog of mine. I'll most likely add it as soon as I'm done watching every single Law&Order episode ever made and as soon as I'm done with a new translation commissioned by Lomography Italia about some kind of a secret project those guys have been carrying out for some time now - I guess I'm not supposed to talk about it ;-)

I really enjoy this collab with Lomography Italia because not only it allows me to get almost anything I might ever dream of off their shop, but also because I have somekind of a "preview" on new products that will most likely become everyone's obsession within a month or so... I could turn into a Lomo-insider-trading-trend-setter if I ever were to become evil, but alas!, I'm a nice one and I always play by the rules. Too bad, I know!

Konica Pop: The Same Old Fun With The Same Old Friends In The Same Old Pub

I took these during our first meet-up in ages, three weeks ago circa. I missed Bene&Hector, and I'm so glad that seeing each other is once again turning into somekind of a happy routine, like it used to be.

Yesterday, after Bene and I got back from the shortest seaside-time ever [barely 20 hours, I guess], we went out for dinner with Hector [which is not his real name, but we've been calling him that way since forever]. We spent the evening at the same old pub, the one we took these pictures at earlier this month.

We took loads of pictures with my Diana mini, that camera is such a cutie, the flash is even bigger than it is! I only shot in half format as the square format switch seemed to got stuck. I love the fact that I can shoot 72 pictures on a 36 roll, so I really don't mind.

At the seaside Bene and I snapped some pics with the Diana mini and the LC-A+ Russia Day as well. I decided not to bring the Fisheye or any multilensed camera along as I wanted to finish the rolls I had in these two cameras first, and also because I hate to pack heavy on photo-stuff. I still have both of these rolls half empty, I guess I'll shoot kind of randomly just to take them to the lab - you have no idea how much I love having new pictures to upload on here.

Olympus µ: Instant Memories on 35mm

Last summer I took about fifty instant pictures with my Diana F+, mostly pictures of my friends at the seaside and my dogs at home. I'd love to try my SX-70 cameras, but since Polaroid/Impossible film is so expensive, I guess I'll keep using Fuji Instax Film the most. 

I took these two pictures with my Olympus µ [can't remember which series], a camera I really liked, too bad it doesn't seem to work, gotta get myself a new battery [which I can't seem to find anywhere].

Tomorrow I'm leaving for a "mid-week weekend" at the seaside with B, hope I'll get to try my brand new LC-A+ Russia Day and maybe some multilensed camera or the Fisheye, we'll see!

Polaroid: Once Upon A Time

Today my Dad turn 45, so here's a picture of him with my Mom, my sister [well, her back] and my dog Toaz [I miss you, buddy] to celebrate.
I took this picture in 1999/2000 with my first camera, a Polaroid 600 I used to bring along all the time [even when there was no film in it, I've been a photo-maniac since I was 9, you see]. We were in Laigueglia, a nice village in Ligury where I've spent most of my childhood and where I still go for summer vacation and on weekends throughout the year, occasionally. The frame is blue-ish 'cause I painted it as a child. This was my first family shot ever, and most likely my favorite.

Konica Pop: August, Sunday Morning in the City

We don't have skies that blue so often, 'round here. I took this pictures on a hot, early August sunday morning. We went to the city centre, we had breakfast at some pavement cafè, we looked at the shop windows, at the people and the dogs passing by, and slowly reached what I guess you could easily call my city's most famous castle.

As we're all quite artsy people, we decided to visit the castle, which also happens to be my city's Museum of Ancient Art. I'm more into 19th and 20th century art, but I've also developed an interest in Christian religious art throughout the centuries since I was in junior high. There were some paintings by Gaudenzio Ferrari, who was a 16th century artist coming from the place I spent my childhood in, so I'm always glad whenever I have the possibility to take a look at some of his work.

I was particularly impressed by a series of Vanitas paintings, most likely my favorite theme in art [I didn't mean to sound macabre]. I especially loved an almost black and white triptych from circa 1500, just a dark, gray piece, plain oil on canvas, but I've never seen anything like dating so old. I was stunned. Unfortunately, I didn't have a pen with me [which happens something like, one in a million days], so I couldn't take note of all the paintings I wanted to do a little research on: I guess I'll just have to visit the museum again - which is something I love doing!

Also, there were a few amazing stained glass works from the Middle Age from Germany. Amazing indeed, if you're any like me, they teminded me of some German Expressionist woodcuts [another of my art-favorites].

My Konica Pop [the red one] never fails me. I love it to bits. All these pictures were taken on a Lomography CN 400, which yelds quite vivid colors, add the wonderful Konica Pop's lens, et voila, colors will just pop out of your pictures! Sure the sun did help a lot, you know, everything looks perfect on sunday morning, and the city feels so much better in August. We should have summer on sundays all year long!

Holga 135BC: (Vertical) Summer 2010

Some pictures I took in Summer 2010 with my Holga 135BC, the film is Fuji Velvia 100 expired cross processed. I'd love to live in a world with such colors, it would feel so much better.

I've managed to finish some rolls with my Konica Pop and Olympus XA. I've been using the SuperSampler every now and then too, and it's quite fun, especially if you have dog puppies all around, but I'm far from finishing my first roll [which has been sitting in that camera since Summer 2010 as well]. I still have three rolls from old cameras I inherited [Eos 100 from dad, Nikon FM from grandpa, Olympus µ from mom] to get processed. It's a tough time and I guess it would bring some comfort to look at some "new" old pictures, if something ever comes out from these rolls.
I still haven't tested my green Konica Pop, I love the red one too much! And I've taken many funny pictures with it - ikea, old friends and pub, and that's just a tiny hint.

Next week I'll be off to Milan and I really can't decide which cameras to bring along, sure thing my brand new Lomo LC-A+ Russia Day is coming, then I was considering the Fisheye for some cool self-portrait of me and my best friend with the Duomo di Milano in the background. We're both kinda lazy ladies, so a multilensed camera is not even an option!
